One of the main problems when producing biogas is to define the amount of biogas produced based on the composition of the substrate mix. The produced mixture is heterogeneous and it is problematic to determine its biogas yield.

Biogas plant operators may be supported in this area by the combination of measuring instruments and IT solutions utilizing spectroscopy and AI data modelling to determine the biogas yield of the substrates mixture in the tank before feeding it to the digester tank.

The solution monitors and reports current measurement data from the spectroscope on an ongoing basis, but also enable the operator to create an appropriate mixture based on measurement data as well as stock levels. With this information, operators are able to create a mix that will produce the expected amount of biogas, further reducing the amount of substrate used.
