Simulation and optimization of the hydrogen production installation

The problem of cost-optimal management of the operation of electrolyser installations for hydrogen production is solved by a combination of on-line control of the electrolysis process, as well as load distribution planning between individual units based on their characteristics. The task of the current control is to keep the operating points of the electrolysers in the optimal areas, while controlling the current values of process parameters at setpoints. In combination with the module responsible for on-line equipment diagnostics, this solution ensures optimal and technologically safe operation of individual electrolysers.

The higher level optimization module that complements this process is responsible for load distribution optimization between individual electrolysers, operating on the basis of the aggregated demand for hydrogen production schedule. The higher level optimizer develops recommended setpoints for individual devices and transfers them to the on-line control and optimization layer in order to ensure optimal operation of the electrolysers units.
