Driven by the implementation of the European Green Deal initiatives, the European gas industry is going through a phase of significant transformation. Most likely, after a transition period, it will be based on such renewable energy carriers as hydrogen, biogas and biomethane. At the moment, however, along with the development of the European Emissions Trading System, the development of carbon dioxide storage segment is getting a new impulse. Improved carbon sequestration technologies combined with various electrolysis methods for hydrogen production, create favorable conditions for the development of another area of renewable gas industry – based on synthetic methane. The Transition Technologies team monitors the further development of new areas of the gas and energy industries and adjusts the directions of development of its products to the changing principles of the industry.
